At PAWZ Dog Services we understand that a love and passion for animals can sometimes be hard to explain. If you have ever had a deep love for any pet or animal in general you know just what this means. Seeing their emotions and the joy, or sometimes the sadness they can feel leaves a lasting impression in your heart that can never be forgotten. PAWZ aspires to embody the love you share for your furry friends through the attention, stimulation at play, compassion, and the care we provide. The primary reason PAWZ began is due to those exact same emotions being taught to founder, Jennifer Hilliard, through the dogs she’s owned and known through out life.
PAWZ began when the owner, Jennifer, found an unbreakable friendship with her Great Dane, Marley. This friendship led her to the driving passion she has today to provide for dogs in a way like no other. After pet sitting for family friends growing up, working at a doggie daycare during high school, and facing life as an adult she realized dogs were WAY better. While attending college for Animal Science she got a job at Central Veterinary Hospital in Knoxville, TN where she began working as a Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Attendant. Her work experience here helped teach her an extensive amount of pet care knowledge that she is thankful to carry on into her work today. Like any broke college student, she needed a way to make extra money to pay the bills. She turned to her true passion of pet care and PAWZ Dog Services began to evolve, fueling a drive she didn’t know she had. Motivated to provide pet services all over Knoxville, she changed her major to business and marketing, developed a business plan, and got to work. She is Pet Tech CPR & First-Aid Certified, a IBPSA and Dog Gurus member and a Certified Professional Animal Care Provider who is dedicated to providing the best care possible for your pet. After starting as a small pet sitting and walking service, PAWZ Dog Services has grown into one of Knoxville’s favorite dog boarding and doggie daycare facilities, where animals are always treated as family, constantly stimulated and able to experience a relationship just like the one they have at home with their owner.
By 2022, PAWZ had grown and evolved to what you see today. We had outgrown our small facility, dreaming of bigger and better ways to provide for the animals we love dearly. Our search for our new home began and after months of construction, blood, sweat and tears, we moved into our new home on Blount Avenue in September 2022. We've built a team of individuals that embody our vision of care and compassion that started it all, allowing the PAWZ family to grow and care for even more animals in our area. Our staff brings knowledge from all aspects of the animal care field and dedicates themselves to caring for your beloved pets everyday!

You'll complete an online account with all your pets information, gather and send in their vaccine records, and book a meet and greet day so that we can get to know your pet(s) a little better! We're always available to answer any questions, or requests regarding your pet’s stay with us! Although our focus is dogs, we have experience with all kinds of animals. Feel free to ask if we can accommodate your cats, reptiles, bunnies or fish!
